Flatiron / NoMad

The name Flatiron District comes from the Flatiron Building, the oldest skyscrapers of New York (1902). The neighborhood has been famous for its dynamic lifestyle since the 19th century (Gilded Age). Madison Square Park (a public space since 1686) settles the boundary between the Flatiron District and NoMad (North of Madison Square Park). In both neighborhoods, the diversity of offering in terms of commercial and residential can be widely observed through notable buildings (Met Life Tower, Woolworth Building, New York Life Building and many, many others). Famous families and notable people contribute to the notoriety of the area since the 19th century.
