Abe Lebewohl Triangle
E 10th St. & Stuyvesant Pl.
New York
NY 10003
Also known as the second smallest park in New York, the 0,01 acre Abe Lebewohl Triangle gets its particular shape from Stuyvesant Street, one of the few diagonal street in Manhattan. This pocket park, as well as the larger one across the street , are named in honor to Abe Lebewohl, the founder of the Second Avenue Deli. Abe Lebewohl was one of the local who organized a petition in order to save both parks (originally bought by the city in 1799). Sadly, Abe was murdered during a daily run to the bank in 1996.
